Mrs. Fran Hensel and her wonderful husband are parishioners of St. Peter Parish and the parents of  two St. Peter School graduates who are successful professionals with families of their own.  Mrs. Hensel absolutely adores her five grand babies and delights in being with him.   She also loves to travel especially to see her family. She is a graduate of Siena College with a K-8 degree in teaching with child sociology specialization.

Mrs. Hensel is the Director of the "On Our Way Home" aftercare program she started when the need arose for two working parents in a household.  She is also the Tuition Management Liaison for St. Peter School Families. 

You will even find Mrs. Hensel and her husband on the soccer field, track, or volunteering at a fundraiser supporting our St. Peter students and families.  Mrs. Hensel says that " While my grandchildren are not close by,  the St. Peter students really light up my day. They really do!"

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to offer "On Our Way Home," an after school academic enrichment program for Kindergarten through 8th grade students of St. Peter's. Our goal is to provide necessary educational assistance presented in an atmosphere of learning and fun.

The program content is arranged to enhance skills and homework needs for the students and will primarily focus on the following areas:

  • Reading and Vocabulary boosters
  • Math skills enhancement
  • Phonics games and activities
  • Math and vocabulary flash cards
  • Providing safe Faith-Based Environment
  • Directing quality learning, recreation and social skills
  • Encouraging interactions with all grade levels 

We plan to also include some play time, a healthy snack program, arts and crafts activities, and weekly movies.

The program will begin each day following the close of school. Naturally, since this is an after school program, we will not be in session on holidays, vacations, or other occasions when school is closed. The same holds true for snow days. The children MUST be picked up no later than 6:00 PM so that we can return our space for parish activities.

Behavioral expectations for the children remain consistent with the policies of St. Peter School. Our plan is to provide supervised care directed toward education and recreation.

Fee Schedule

After School Care: Dismissal - 6:00 PM

Registration Fee: $55.00 - 1 child
$105.00 - 2 children
$155.00 - 3 children

Full Time: $55.00 per week - first child
$50.00 per week - each additional child

Part Time: $17.00 per day - first child
$15.00 per day - each additional child

Program costs do not discontinue when school closes.

Fees will not be adjusted for sick days, snow days, or vacation days.

Annual program cost calculations assume no charge for one full week at Easter and one full week at Christmas.
