Technology Coordinator/Librarian: Mrs. Kennedy

I currently live in North Ridgeville, OH with my husband of 14 years, Jason, and two children: Morgan, age 10, and Matthew, age 7.  We enjoy life with our Cocker Spaniel, Marley, and new Boston Terrier puppy, Mia.  I love spending time with my family, shopping, watching movies, or just relaxing by the fire.

After 10 years in Office Administration, I decided to stay at home with my two small children.   I have recently returned back to work in various retail and office positions.  When the opportunity to join the St. Peter School family as the Technology Coordinator/Librarian became available, I was very happy to take the position.  With my many years of technology experience, it is great to share it in an educational aspect.

The new iMac Computer Lab is a state-of-the-art resource for the students.  I am available to the teachers of all grade levels to set up new programs, bookmark educational sites, and solve any issues that may arise both in the lab and the classrooms.   I enjoy using my Mac knowledge (I am always learning more everyday) and Microsoft Office skills to help the students when working on projects.  I am also working diligently to make sure the computers are always up-to-date with the latest software updates.  I attend quarterly Technology Integration Programs with our Technology Partner, G & G, Inc., to bring back the latest in computer education ideas to the teaching staff.

As the school Librarian, I am available for all grades to check out books for reading, projects or research.  In the Preschool and Kindergarten classes, I read a story to the students, who then draw pictures from what they heard.  Preschool classes are then given the chance to look at select books during their Library time.  The K-8 classes are given the opportunity to check out their books on a weekly basis.

With the help of PTU fundraising at the Scholastic Book Fair, I am in the process of researching a way to upgrade our Library to an electronic scanning system.  This will ensure a time efficient way to keep track of library books and eventually start to offer eBooks as a resource for the students.

I am very happy to be a part of the Catholic Family of St. Peter School.  It is also a pleasure to be involved as a parent in the St. Peter PTU.
