LOOK WHO’S POPPING UP IN FOURTH GRADE

        Welcome to the 2010 - 2011 school year!  It is  hard for me to believe how quickly the summer just flew by.  I hope that everyone enjoyed their summer vacation with family, travels, and activities. 

        Fourth grade is the beginning of the intermediate grades and, as such, there are some curricular differences.  There is more time allotted to content subjects such as Social Studies and Science.  The intermediate grades are the time to develop power and proficiency in reading and related skills, such as finding the main idea, understanding differences, drawing conclusions, etc.  I hope to assist the students in learning and practicing basic work skills, such as being responsible for their time and assignments, being organized in their desks, papers and approach to work, and knowing how to study for tests on a simple level.

        I look forward to working with you and your child to make this truly a successful year.
