Welcome back parents and students.  I hope that you found the summer to be restful and are re-energized to start the 2010-11 school year.  I'm looking forward to the music making that will be occurring in our school and further shaping the musicians of tomorrow.  During the month of September the children will be learning about the Star Spangled Banner and it's importance to our country.  Francis Scott Key penned the words to our National Anthem on September 14th after witnessing the British Navy attack Fort McHenry during the War of 1812.  We will also be spending time working on basic musicianship skills such as keeping a beat, singing on pitch, and identifying high and low.
